How Do You Share Your Wedding Photos With Guests?

Your gallery arrives and the messages start straight away: when can we see the photos? Sharing them well comes down to one link, the right settings and a little thought about privacy, not fifty separate WhatsApp threads.

When should you share the photos?

Share soon, while everyone is still talking about the day. Have your own first look through the gallery, pick out anything you want to keep back for yourselves, then send the link. A link sent while the excitement is still fresh lands better than one that arrives weeks later, when it can feel like an afterthought.

What is the easiest way to share them?

One place, one link. Ask your photographer whether your gallery has a guest-sharing option, like a view link or a PIN you can pass on. Try not to split the photos across WhatsApp, email and cloud folders: pictures get buried, and chat apps compress them. If your gallery has no guest option, a shared album link from a cloud service works for a smaller set.

Should guests be able to download the full files?

Check the download settings before the link goes out. Your gallery may let you choose between full-resolution files and web-size copies, or switch downloads off entirely. Full files are the ones worth having for printing, so if guests will want to print, leave full downloads on. If you would rather keep printing in the family, share a view-only link and order prints for parents yourselves.

Can guests add their own photos?

Phone candids can capture moments your photographer missed, and they are worth collecting. If you want them, give guests an easy way to upload: a QR code on the tables or a shared album link in your thank-you message. Without a place to put them, the best ones stay on other people's phones.

What about privacy and social media?

The gallery link is for your guests, so send it to them directly rather than posting it anywhere public, and check who can view and download before it travels further. It works the other way too. If you would rather share the first photos yourselves, tell your guests before the day. A warm one-line request before the day is enough to ask guests to hold back their own posts until you have shared yours.

If you are still planning your day and want a photographer whose galleries make sharing simple for you and your guests, drop me a message.
